Job Summary

The Distribution Associate III is an experienced-level position responsible for unloading and verifying inbound shipments as well as picking, loading and sorting outbound shipments in the warehouse. This position will also be responsible for completing cycle counting and inbound/outbound checkoff processes.

Essential Job Duties

1. Unloads incoming shipments, checking to ensure correct quantity and labelling matches inbound paperwork.
2. Inspects all inbound shipments for freight damage and reports any damage to appropriate parties.
3. Picks, packs and loads customer orders following established processes.
4. Doublechecks the carton quality of picked orders prior to loading.
5. Returns all misplaced and erroneously pulled items to proper bin location.
6. Consolidates bin locations, as directed.
7. Maintains proper stack height of all product.
8. Prepares inbound/outbound reports and acts to troubleshoot and resolve issues found in the reports.
9. Assists with completion of “Code Blue” orders.
10. Assist with training new Distribution Associates.
11. Ensures completion of daily put away responsibilities.
12. Adheres to published housekeeping responsibilities for designated area.

Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in additional housekeeping duties for the department including keeping work areas and all bin locations clear as needed to ensure safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

Expected Hours of Work

• Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Hours depend on business needs, during peak season, overtime is expected including some weekends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of warehouse experience is required.
• Experience using warehouse equipment such as hand truck/dolly, pallet jack, order picker required.
• Forklift Certification Required.
• Expert in Warehouse Management System and Datascope for Inbound and Outbound processing.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions as well as give instruction to others.
• Ability to perform warehouse duties such as: picking, packing, sorting, shipping and receiving.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. at any given time.
• Maintain flexibility regarding job assignments, assisting other departments, and working overtime (based on business needs).
• Basic math skills.
• Good attendance and demonstrated work ethic required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate with alternating periods of moderate to high stress. There is some exposure to temperature extremes and dust in the warehouse/plant environment.
