At Regions, the Home Improvement Financing Software Products Product Manager (SPM) is responsible for the vision, strategy, requirements, and representation of a domain of the organization’s software products. The SPM represents all stakeholders (internal and external) within their domain.
This position is heavily engaged in subject matter expertise, user journey, discovery, defining requirements, prioritization, and collaboration with user experience (UX) and software development resources.
Regions Home Improvement Financing, a division of Regions Bank, engages in strategic partnerships with home-improvement manufacturers, distributors, franchisors, trade groups, and independent contractors to provide Point-of-Sale financing capabilities. This enables these partners to provide homeowners with an additional option to pay for various improvements to their homes, benefitting both the contractor partner and the homeowner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborates with stakeholders and customers regularly to understand and represent their needs in product planning
- Develops and documents domain knowledge to include stakeholders, systems, processes, risks, and opportunities
- Defines domain-based metrics, identifies product issues and opportunities, validates and reports on the success of product strategies
- Evaluates and prioritizes product initiatives through analysis and estimates of value-add, complexity, risk, dependencies, etc.
- Assists with developing product strategies, presentations and obtaining leadership approval
- Assists with designing process workflows, work breakdown structures, wireframes, prototypes, draft copy, maintain epics and write stories
- May prioritize product backlogs and break initiatives into Minimum Viable Products (MVP) and other phases to ensure continuous and maximum value delivery
- Communicates clearly and regularly on upcoming product initiatives and releases to stakeholders
- Travels (5-10% of time) to participate in customer-oriented events and conferences as well as on-site training and related activities as needed
This job is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years in product management, product ownership or related field
- Or Associate's degree and four (4) years in product management, product ownership or related field
- Or High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years in product management, product ownership or related field
Preferences
- Prior banking experience
- Prior home-improvement industry experience
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to break down high level initiatives or features into small units of development.
- Ability to draft copy that is technically sound, pleasant, and engaging for a variety of audiences
- Ability to evaluate cost, effort, benefit, risk, and prioritize dozens of initiatives into a product roadmap
- Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Familiarity with mobile first and responsive web design
- Strong familiarity with software components: forms, field types, views, UX principles, databases, entities, relationships, and APIs
Additional Job Description
- This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
- This position may work a Hybrid schedule in the Salt Lake City Office location.
Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
