Description
Reports to Sourcing Supervisor
We are seeking a highly motivated Sourcing Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement and sourcing of goods and services required by our organization. This role focuses on data-driven decision-making, supplier evaluation, cost analysis, and process improvement to ensure the company receives the best value while maintaining quality and compliance. The Sourcing Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages supplier relationships, and drives continuous improvement in sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to products, suppliers, and market trends.
- Track overall spend, item/project margins, and identify areas for cost savings.
- Maintain and review records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
Supplier Management
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing suppliers; identify and qualify new suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve the best value for the organization.
Sourcing & Procurement
- Lead or support the implementation of sourcing projects, including RFPs, bid processes, and contract negotiations.
- Source and purchase goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with specifications.
- Review catalogs, industry periodicals, and consult with internal teams to locate needed products from the best possible sources.
Process Improvement
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational goals.
- Drive improvements in bidding processes and project management for sourcing initiatives.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance sourcing operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with sales, operations, quality, and finance to ensure alignment on sourcing needs and project timelines.
- Onboard new suppliers and products, including sample requests and test result monitoring.
- Serve as a backup to the purchasing team as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/purchasing systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and act with urgency.
- Critical thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems.
- Act with urgency to address urgent matters and ensure timely resolution.
- Prioritize tasks based on level of urgency and importance.
- Team participation - ability to successfully interact with coworkers to accomplish team and company goals while building healthy working relationships with them.
- Experience in the food industry is a plus.
