Purpose

The Associate Campus Pastor partners with the Campus Pastor to provide pastoral leadership, build and empower teams, and ensure the health and growth of the Grants Mill Campus. This role combines pastoral care, organizational leadership, and operational oversight to create life-giving environments where people can know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, equip, and empower staff, Dream Team, and small group leaders.
  • Mentor leaders to grow spiritually, develop leadership capacity, and foster team health.
  • Guide team members toward personal and ministry goals in alignment with Highlands’ vision.
  • Lead regular meetings with coordinators, coaches, and teammates to strengthen culture and unity.

Pastoral Leadership & Care

  • Provide pastoral care through prayer, counseling, discipleship, and encouragement.
  • Be present and approachable during services and throughout the week to connect with attenders and volunteers.
  • Support the Campus Pastor in preaching, teaching, and leading services when needed.
  • Be available for pastoral appointments such as pre-marital counseling.

Ministry Oversight & Execution

  • Provide leadership for key ministry areas (e.g., Small Groups, Kids, Students, Outreach, Growth Track, Dream Team).
  • Ensure systems and strategies are executed consistently and with excellence.
  • Collaborate with central teams to adapt and implement resources effectively.
  • Lead and support special events and milestone moments (Growth Track, Dream Team events, Water Baptism, etc.).

Operational & Strategic Support

  • Partner with the Campus Pastor to oversee campus operations including services, events, and facilities.
  • Ensure the campus environment is welcoming, organized, and prepared weekly.
  • Oversee campus finances and resource stewardship in alignment with church policy.
  • Carry delegated leadership authority in the absence of the Campus Pastor.
  • Champion and implement church-wide initiatives in the campus context.

Qualifications

  • Clear call to vocational ministry and a passion for the local church.
  • 3–5 years of proven ministry and leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, pastoral, and organizational leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, empower, and multiply leaders and teams.
  • Full alignment with the mission, vision, and culture of Church of the Highlands.
