I. Summary of the position:

• The main responsibility of the Manager is to assist in supervising and managing all

aspects of the assigned campus cafe as well as provide a professional and friendly

service to Highlands guests. The candidate must be detail-oriented with the ability to

multi-task and have a full knowledge of all Highlands Cafe services, policies, procedures,

and requirements of Church of the Highlands.

• The candidate must possess strong customer service, as well as analytical and problem-

solving skills. This position requires a background of strong organizational and time

management skills. Additionally, the position will require flexible participation of work

schedules, employee development, ordering supplies for all campuses, vendor relations,

priority assessment, and management of all workflow processes.

II. Experience and Knowledge Required:

Technical Skills:

• Proven experience managing multiple simultaneous projects

• Established ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining the overall vision

• Confirmed inventory management skills

• Extensive knowledge of POS system

• Common knowledge of MS Office

Relational Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Handles “crisis” situation wellIII. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

A Campus Café Manger’s overall role: responsible for the administration, management, and

supervision of their campus’ café.

Provide and promote high standards of professionalism, integrity, and leadership, both within

and outside the church. Appropriately represent Church of the Highlands business and

ministry philosophies, policies, and procedures.

Oversight responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Accounting - sales reconciliation, deposit, accounts receivable, the PO process, coding of

invoices, all done in a timely manner

• Monthly scheduling for their campus café

• Payroll for their café

• Communicate with café vendors on a weekly basis

• Hire/fire for assigned campus café with District Manager approval

• Weekly deposit for campus café

• Create a life-giving, clean environment for all guests

• Connect and build relationships with café teams

• Monthly connect with café team

• Promote the professional development of employees

• Assist with conference and event planning.

• Work with employees to build a consistent product and service that is expected from

Highlands Café.

• Develop and maintain a friendly, well laid out, and clean coffee bar area with a

professional appearance and effective customer service

• Uphold good communication systems between management, staff, and volunteers

• A monthly deep clean is required for each café

IV. Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administrative – Quick response to emails

• Work in café at least twice a week and on Sundays.

• Accuracy, productivity, and efficiency of work duties performed

• Ability to independently perform job functions with minimal supervision

• Departments serviced, questions answered, and problems solved

• Weekly connect with campus lead team.

VI. Extent of Personal Contact:

• Daily contact with Department Head and the café team

2• Routine contact with Highlands Pastors and staff team members

• Vendors and suppliers related to the Highlands Café

VII. Physical Demands:

• Heavy lifting on a weekly basis (occasionally up to fifty pounds with no assistance)

• Flexibility within schedule (i.e., working more than eight hours if required)

• Ladder climbing

• Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive motions

• Standing and walking for up to eight plus hours

• Moving large quantities of merchandise/product with carts, dollies, hand trucks, etc.

• Long hours during conferences and events

VIII. Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manage the employees at assigned campus café

• Hire/Fire with the approval of the District Café Manager
