Network Administrator (Grandview Location)

The Network Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of the organization’s wired and wireless network infrastructure across multiple campuses at Church of the Highlands (“Highlands”) and Highlands College.

This mid‑level role operates with limited supervision, independently handling most operational network responsibilities while collaborating with the Lead Network Administrator on design decisions, escalations, and large‑scale initiatives. The Network Administrator plays a key role in maintaining network reliability, security, and performance for ministry operations and weekend services.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

  • 3+ years of enterprise network administration experience in a multi‑site environment.
  • Expertise with Arista switching, Arista CloudVision, and Dell switches.
  • Experience with Ruckus Wireless (RF design, AP deployments, troubleshooting).
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols, 802.1X, and certificate-based onboarding.
  • Experience with Peplink SD‑WAN and multi‑WAN failover appliances.
  • Experience supporting AT&T, Spectrum, Uniti Fiber, and Starlink circuits.
  • Experience leading network projects or acting as a project technical lead.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Administer, configure, and support multicampus wired networks using Arista, Arista CloudVision, Dell switches, and other platforms adopted by Highlands.
  • Configure and maintain VLANs, trunking, link aggregation, inter‑VLAN routing, Spanning Tree, and basic routing protocols.
  • Independently manage switch configurations, firmware upgrades, backups, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Assist with IP addressing design and maintain accurate addressing documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues.
  • Administer and support enterprise wireless networks using Ruckus Wireless controllers and access points.
  • Configure SSIDs, authentication methods, segmentation, and QoS policies.
  • Support SecureW2 certificate‑based 802.1X onboarding and troubleshooting.
  • Perform wireless site surveys, RF tuning, interference mitigation, and AP optimization.
  • Troubleshoot wireless performance and connectivity issues across multi‑building campuses.
  • Support and administer Palo Alto Firewalls and Twingate under established standards.
  • Administer DNS and DHCP services including scopes, reservations, redundancy, and cleanup.
  • Maintain IP schemas, site mappings, and naming conventions.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across network services.
  • Support WAN connectivity and ISP circuits.
  • Deploy, configure, and support Peplink appliances.
  • Independently troubleshoot WAN issues and coordinate escalations with ISPs.
  • Assist with circuit turnups, testing, and documentation.
