Responsibilities
The Supplier Opportunity Specialist is a key member of the Corporate Responsibility team responsible for advancing Brasfield & Gorrie’s supplier opportunity initiatives through direct partnership with regional, office, and project teams. The Specialist is responsible for fully owning supplier opportunity efforts tied to project pursuits, including client-facing deliverables, outreach strategies, and supplier engagement. This individual will manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, proactively identify and connect qualified subcontractors to project opportunities, and serve as a trusted partner to internal teams. This is a highly independent, execution-focused role requiring a strong understanding of construction operations, relationship management, and strategic coordination.

The Specialist is responsible for fully owning supplier opportunity efforts tied to project pursuits, including client-facing deliverables, outreach strategies, and supplier engagement. This individual will manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, proactively identify and connect qualified subcontractors to project opportunities, and serve as a trusted partner to internal teams. This is a highly independent, execution-focused role requiring a strong understanding of construction operations, relationship management, and strategic coordination.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Serve as the primary supplier opportunity resource for assigned regions, supporting office leadership, preconstruction teams, and project teams
- Fully own supplier opportunity efforts for project pursuits, including strategy development, client-related deliverables, presentations, and interview support
- Partner with preconstruction teams to identify, research, and engage qualified subcontractors aligned with project needs and client expectations
- Provide comprehensive office and preconstruction support related to supplier outreach, subcontractor engagement, and opportunity tracking
- Lead and execute supplier outreach strategies for active and upcoming projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and regional priorities
- Coordinate and manage multiple internal and external events simultaneously, including networking events, project outreach events, workshops, jobsite tours, and industry conferences
- Conduct proactive subcontractor and supplier research to expand and strengthen the company’s network of qualified trade partners
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners to support long-term engagement and opportunity development
- Own and manage relationships with industry associations within assigned regions, including event participation, engagement strategy, and representation of the company
- Prepare and support client reporting related to supplier participation, outreach efforts, and project engagement
- Support and execute operational aspects of supplier opportunity initiatives, including new programs, small group engagements, and project-specific efforts
- Manage and maintain supplier data across platforms, including Procore (Subcontractor Database), prequalification systems, and internal tracking tools
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of supplier records, including onboarding new vendors, tracking prequalification status, and monitoring expired certifications
- Support the EQUIP program through member engagement, website updates, and ongoing strategy execution to enhance contractor participation
- Track and manage industry association memberships, events, and engagement opportunities across assigned regions
- Support marketing and communications efforts related to supplier opportunities, including social media, email campaigns, and event promotion
- Manage shared inboxes related to supplier opportunity, EQUIP, and project-specific communications, ensuring timely and professional responses
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance best practices, and drive innovation in supplier opportunity efforts
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 4–7 years of experience in construction, preconstruction, business development, supplier diversity, or a related field
- Strong understanding of construction project lifecycle, preconstruction processes, and subcontractor engagement
- Proven ability to independently manage project-related initiatives and operate with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Experience supporting or leading project pursuits, including preparation of client-facing materials and presentations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, events, and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong organizational and operational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners
- Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, and/or industry associations preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation development and delivery
- Experience with systems such as Procore, Salesforce, Smartsheet, or similar platforms preferred
- Experience with marketing and communication tools such as Canva and Campaign Monitor preferred
- Self-starter with the ability to “plug and play” in a fast-paced environment and quickly add value
- Travel required, up to 25%
